We investigate the resonant tunneling in an Aharonov-Bohm ring with a
quantum dot embedded in one of its arms. A complete transmission mecha
nism, considering both the resonance of the dot and the interference e
ffect, is presented. As a consequence, the experimental results, the p
hase features for conductance peaks, are well explained by a one-dimen
sional noninteracting model. New features concerning temperature effec
ts are predicted.
