Abstract
Linear solvation energy relationships based on application of the Kaml et-Taft model were used to predict the interfacial tension and surface excess isotherms, the surface excess at saturation, and the free ener gy of adsorption for the model hydroxyoximes of various hydrophobicity in systems containing octane, toluene, and their mixtures as model di luents. The obtained relationships are accurate enough for such estima tion and, except for the equation for the free energy of adsorption, t hey do not depend on hydroxyoxime hydrophobicity.
