Abstract
The papper deals with the reflection of evolutionary development in so me taxonomical system of living organisms. Such system despite all its imperfectness, inevitability looks like ''hierarchical model'' of bio ta evolution. The popular criticism of the ''hierarchical principle'' of a system construction and the conventional nature of ''linnean cate gories'' is primarily based on the confusion of notiom and is due to e ither the prevalence of genealogical point of view or the emphasizing combinative nature of character states. However, genealogies, homologi es, parallelism, combinativeness take place at a single (and each) hie rarchical level; cannot prevent the perception of the whole hierarchic al structure of biota as the result of the successive increase in the diversity. If the contemporary evolutionary theories are addressed, on e can see the advocates of ''punctuated equlibrium'' to develope ''a h ierarchical approach to evolution'' as an approach different from Darw inian ''gradualistic model'', but this argument remains within narrow framework and does not lead to the necessary renewal of the synthetic theory.
