Abstract
A technique is proposed allowing one to interpret dependences of the i mpedance constituents an the electrode potential and analyze trajector ies traced our in the course of altering potential by the end of the i mpedance vector (polarization impedance hodographs) for the electroche mical reaction of charge transfer, The first-and second-order impedanc es are considered from a unified viewpoint. Qualitatively, the polariz ation hodograph for charge transfer proceeding under kinetic control i s represented by two semicircles that smoothly transform into each oth er. The semicircles correspond to either anodic or cathodic potentials and lie within the second and fourth quadrants of the complex plane, respectively.
