Total synthesis of an antibiotic, micrococcin P, was first accomplishe
d by the coupling of a 2,3,6-polythiazole-substituted pyridine skeleto
n [Fragment A-C] with the independently synthesized Fragments B and D,
and then deprotection with trifluoroacetic acid and final intramolecu
lar cyclization using BOP as condensing agent.
