A thrust analysis of Large-Rapidity-Gap events in deep-inelastic cp co
llisions is presented, using data taken with the H1 detector at HERA i
n 1994. The average thrust of the final states X, which emerge from th
e dissociation of virtual photons in the range 10 < Q(2) < 100 GeV2 gr
ows with hadronic mass nr, and implies a dominant 2-jet topology. Thru
st is found to decrease with growing P-t, the thrust jet momentum tran
sverse to the photon-proton collision axis. Distributions of P-t(2) ar
e consistent with being independent of M-x. They show a strong alignme
nt of the thrust axis with the photon-proton collision axis. and have
a large high-P-t tail. Tile correlation of thrust with M-x is similar
to that ill e(+)e(-) annihilation at root s(ee) = M-x but with lower v
alues of thrust in the ep data. The data cannot be described by interp
reting the dissociated system X as a q (q) over bar state but inclusio
n of a substantial fraction of q (q) over bar q parton configurations
leads naturally to the observed properties. The soft colour exchange i
nteraction model does not describe the data.
