L. Vincent et al., TRANSCATHETER CLOSURE OF THE RIGHT-TO-LEF T INTERATRIAL SHUNT AFTER PNEUMONECTOMY, Revue des maladies respiratoires, 15(1), 1998, pp. 103-105
Right to left shunt through a patent foramen ovale after pneumonectomy
is a rare complication. Its clinical presentation is a severe dyspnea
with posture dependency. The diagnosis is easily confirmed by contras
t echocardiography. The purpose of this article is to expose the inter
est of interventional catheterization and transcatheter closure. This
method appears to be a viable alternative to surgery for those patient
s with precarious respiratory function.
