Abstract
Alkylation and decarboxylation of alpha-fluoro-beta-ketoesters such as ethyl 2-fluoro-3-oxobutanoate offers a versatile route to a range of fluoro-ketoalkenes, demonstrating the synthetic utility of using alpha -fluoro-beta-ketoesters as synthons for the preparation of synthetical ly more sophisticated selectively fluorinated systems.
