Structural and magnetic properties of the GdMn1-xCoxSi compounds with
x=0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 have been investigated. All the compou
nds investigated are isotypical and crystallize in the tetragonal PbFC
l-type structure. The GdMn1-xCoxSi compounds exhibit ferromagnetic cou
pling. Substitution of Co for Mn leads to a decrease of the unit-cell
volume, of the saturation magnetization at 1.5 K and of the Curie temp
