Liquidus line in the system K-Te in the whole concentration range has
been determined using a method of differential thermal analysis of the
alloys. It has been found that the compounds K2Te and K2Te3 melt cong
ruently at the temperatures of 920+/-15 degrees C and 432+/-3 degrees
C, respectively, and the compounds K5Te3 and KTe melt incongruently at
the temperatures of 650+/-10 degrees C and 415+/-3 degrees C, respect
ively. Three eutectic points have been also found: the first one near
pure K at 63+/-1 degrees C, the second one having the composition Te-4
5 at % K at 387+/-3 degrees C and the third one with the composition T
e-(22.0+/-0,5) at % K at 252+/-2 degrees C. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science
