Abstract
By X-ray and neutron diffraction, the crystal structure of Tl3Li(MoO4) (2) has been determined. This compound crystallizes in the hexagonal s ystem, space group P6(3)mc (n degrees 186) with a=6.0037(1) Angstrom, c=15.8194(5) Angstrom and Z = 2. Tetracoordinated lithium and molybden um atoms form a deficient tridymite-like framework. Thallium atoms occ upy three kinds of sites with different environments. Positions of the ir 6s(2) lone pairs have been calculated and their stereochemical acti vities are compared.
