Abstract
This study builds upon the baccalaureate origins literature to determi ne which institutional types, controlling for size, granted the larges t proportions of bachelor's degrees to successful European American wo men, African American women, and Latinas. Success was defined as havin g earned a doctoral degree or as being listed in one of several Who's Who books.
