Abstract
Preliminary investigations demonstrated that six species of piroplasm parasitised horses, mules, oxen, dairy cattle, buffaloes and pigs in t he southern, western and middle regions of Yunnan: Babesia bigemina, B . bovis, B. equi, B. trautmanni, Theileria annulata and T. sergenti. T he specimens of Haemaphysalis found differed from specimens of Haemaph ysalis bispinosa reported before in Yunnan and were identified as Haem aphysalis longicornis.
