J. Timonen et al., NUCLEAR-MAGNETIC-RESONANCE IMAGING - A POTENTIAL METHOD FOR ANALYSIS OF BONE MATERIAL, Journal of materials science. Materials in medicine, 9(4), 1998, pp. 187-190
The basic usage of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) microimaging for m
aterials characterization is introduced. An application of microimagin
g for three-dimensional structural study of trabecular bone is present
ed with elementary types of image presentation. Solid bone in itself d
oes not produce any significant NMR intensity and natural lipids and/o
r added 70% ethanol has been used as a signal source. The applied puls
e sequences were three-dimensional spin echo and three-dimensional che
mical shift selective spin echo. (C) 1998 Chapman & Hall.
