We report four patients who developed heparin-associated thrombocytope
nia (HAT) under heparin prophylaxis. One patient showed no clinical si
gns, but three had severe complications (white-clot syndrome, acute ad
renal failure and loss of limb because of thromboembolic complication)
, leading to death in two cases.
