Abstract
p-Di[1-C-13]ethoxybenzene was synthesized in high yield and with high labeling efficiency from hydroquinone and [1-C-13]iodoethane in the pr esence of a base in dry acetone. Some p-[1-C-13]ethoxyphenol was also formed, from which further p-di[1-C-13]ethoxybenzene could be synthesi zed.
