Abstract
Two new cytotoxic compounds, 2-[10(Z)-heptadecenyl]-1,4-hydroquinone ( 1) and -heptadecenyl]-[10(Z)heptadecenyl]-2-cyclohexenone (2) have bee n isolated from a MeOH extract of seeds of Tapirira guianensis. The st ructures were established through spectral analysis of the isolates an d their derivatives.
