Yl. Zhao et al., PHOTOCURRENT GENERATION FROM A SELF-ASSEMBLING GUEST-HOST LB FILM OF C-60(HOOC(C)UNDER-BARHNH(C)UNDER-BARHCOOH) AND OCTOPENTYLOXY PHTHALOCYANINE, Solid state communications, 106(1), 1998, pp. 43-48
The photoelectric properties of a guest-host system of C-60(HOOC (C) u
nder bar HNH (C) under bar HCOOH) (C(60)AAD) and 2,3,11,12,20,21,29,30
-octopentyloxy phthalocyanine (Pc(OR)(8), R = C5H11) were studied. The
evident change of pi-A isotherms and the blue-shift of UV-vis spectra
showed that C(60)AAD molecules were incorporated into the cavities of
Pc(OR)(8) to form a host-guest Langmuir film at air-water interface.
The mixed film could be deposited onto solid substrates with transfer
ratio of about 1.05 +/- 0.05 at 15 mN m(-1). The photoelectrochemical
investigation of the mixed LB film on ITO electrodes was carried out.
Results showed that electrons flow from the ITO through the mixed LB f
ilm to the electrolyte. Positive bias voltage, electron acceptor and o
xygen were the beneficial factors for energy conversion. The external
quantum yield was up to 3.5-4.0% (e/photon) without any bias voltage.
