Abstract
The paper presents the formulation of a waveguide junction formed by a n elliptic and a circular waveguide using the mode-matching method. Th e junction studied is concentrically joined with the cross-section of waveguide completely enclosed by waveguide. By expressing the modal fi elds in both waveguides in terms of Bessel functions, exact closed-for m expressions for evaluating the coupling integrals are obtained. Theo retical results compare well with measurements and published results.
