Abstract
In this work we present five different configurations are presented of four-element lens systems operated in a novel mode which is angular r esolving. The focal properties and also the aberration effects for thi s mode have been calculated using the ray-tracing program SIMION 6.0. The theoretically predicted results have been verified experimentally for one particular lens system. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
