Abstract
The coexistence curves of (nitrobenzene; hexadecane) have been determi ned within 10.5 K from the critical temperature by measurements of ref ractive index. The critical exponent beta deduced from temperature-ref ractive index ( T, n), temperature-mole fraction (T, x), and temperatu re-volume fraction (T,phi) curves are consistent with the theoretical predictions. The results also have been analyzed to obtain equations o f coexistence curves and to discuss the goodness of selected order par ameters.
