Abstract
Linear selective reflection spectroscopy with frequency modulation has been used to lock the frequency of a diode laser to a Doppler-free hy perfine component of the Cs DI line. We discuss the performance of thi s novel frequency stabilization scheme and analyze its dependence on v arious system parameters. The technique is compared to the commonly us ed saturation spectroscopic techniques.
