We present a cyclic cellular automaton for excitable media. The model
exhibits the complex dynamics of patterns observed in excitable media.
Spatial patterns dynamics provides an important example of spatio-tem
poral self-organization in distributed active systems. The global beha
vior of the cellular automaton model is described in terms of point co
rrelation functions. The Fouries analysis pointed out the quasi-oscill
atory and chaotic behavior of these functions.
