A 3-D mathematical model of the electric field excited by overhead HV
lines is proposed. The disturbing influence of physical objects (locat
ed in the line proximity) on the electric field distribution is taken
into account in the model. The hybrid numerical technique based on bot
h the boundary element method and the charge simulation method is prop
osed to solve the problem in question. The appropriate mathematical fo
rmulae are presented. Several practical problems that require to be tr
eated as three-dimensional ones are considered, and selected numerical
results are shown.
