Abstract
We have investigated the effect of addition of stearic acid in poly( N -vinylcarbazole) (PVCz) films doped with perylene, Samples were prepar ed by spin coating technique and characterized by photoluminescence (P L) and Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) absorption. It was elucidate d that PL emission due to perylene at 450 nm and 480 nm was enhanced a nd the concentration quenching of the perylene emission was reduced by the addition of stearic acid. Orientation ordering of carbazole base plane and/or perylene ring plane was suggested from IR measurement.
