Theoretical results have been computed to complement recent measuremen
ts by Scheer et al. [Bull. Am. Phys. Sec. 42, 1026 (1997)], which yiel
ded electron affinities (EA) of excited states of the ground configura
tion of Sn-. Our relativistic configuration-interaction values for the
position of the excited Sn-with respect to the negative ion ground st
ate are EA(D-2(3/2)) = 5903 cm(-1) (0.732 eV), and EA(D-2(5/2)) = 6493
cm(-1) (0.805 eV). Triple excitations make a significant contribution
. Magnetic dipole hyperfine-structure constants (A) and M1 transition
probabilities are also reported.
