Cadmium (e,2e) energy spectra have been measured which show the effect
s of electron impact exchange processes at large scattering angles. As
the scattering angle is increased from 2 degrees to 15 degrees the re
lative peak intensities of the P-3(1) and P-1(1) 4d(9)5s(2)5p autoioni
zing resonances change by a factor of 3. A semiempirical model is pres
ented which seeks to parametrize all the data in terms of a single con
stant.
