Tj. Murphy et al., RECENT DIAGNOSTIC DEVELOPMENT FOR INERTIAL CONFINEMENT FUSION-RESEARCH AT LOS-ALAMOS NATIONAL LABORATORY, Plasma physics reports, 24(2), 1998, pp. 123-129
Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) experiments require sophisticated di
agnostics with temporal resolution measured in tens of picoseconds and
spatial resolutions measured in microns. The Los Alamos ICF Program i
s currently supporting a number of diagnostics on the Nova and Trident
laser facilities and is developing new diagnostics for use on the Ome
ga laser facility. New systems and technologies are being developed fo
r use on the National Ignition Facility, which is expected to be opera
tional early in the next decade.
