Abstract
Supercritical solvent extraction has been used for drying of wet gels in the production of SiO2 monoliths, with methanol and liquid CO2 used as solvents. The influence of various process parameters and nature o f the solvent on the structural and mechanical properties of the monol iths obtained has been studied.
