Abstract
Platelets play key physiologic roles in the hemostatic response to vas cular injury, But thrombi that form in the absence of vessel wall dama ge may either disrupt or completely block blood flow. A better underst anding of platelet pathophysiology promises to lead to improved therap y of myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and related syndromes.
