Js. Hundal et R. Nath, THE PIEZOELECTRIC EFFECT AND STORED POLARIZATION IN CORONA-CHARGED ABS FILMS, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 31(5), 1998, pp. 482-487
The piezoelectric coefficient osl of poly-(aclylonitrile-co-butadiene-
co-styrene) (ABS) terpolymer films has been measured as a function of
various poling and stretching conditions. d(31) congruent to 1.75 pC N
-1 has been measured in ABS films for a poling field of about 55 MV m(
-1), poling temperature 90 degrees C and stretching ratio 4. The store
d polarization P-r in piezo ABS films has been estimated using thermal
ly stimulated depolarization current (TSC) experiments. The contributi
ons of the dimensional effect and the polarization to the piezoelectri
city in the ABS films have been determined. Cooperative dipolar behavi
our is believed to be involved in the stored polarization.
