Abstract
The No. 1 round billet CCM (No, I RCC) was started up in July 1996 at Wakayama Works, featuring the tundish hot recycle operation and high s peed casting technologies, The tundish is successfully recycled by the hot slag discharge equipment and proper tundish flux-selection, The h igh speed casting, 3.0 m/min with a empty set 191 mm mould, can be ach ieved thanks to the improvement of oscillation condition and mould flu xes. Machine concept and operating technology of the No, 1 RCC are dis cussed.
