Abstract
A three-variable model that includes a diffusing and fast activator, a localized and slow inhibitor and a third variable that provides immed iate long-range interaction is used to simulate spatiotemporal formati on on a disk. We study breakup of target and spiral waves due to chang ing a parameter that breaks the inversion symmetry of the model. (C) 1 998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
