Abstract
This paper is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the bubble growth at the tip of a capillary used in maximum bubble pressure measurement s, The fast regimes of bubble formation for short and wide capillaries are considered on the basis of an earlier approach. This approach tak es into account the inertia of the gas flow, The significance of the e xperimental conditions is discussed. The phenomenon of an inertial ove rcome of the maximum pressure is predicted and confirmed experimentall y. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
