Abstract
Monolithic microwave mixers, operating at 2-3 GHz, have been developed based on the lumped balanced circuit approach. By using two passive l umped balun circuits on the RF and LO ports, respectively, a wideband balanced mixer with good isolation can be realized. The conversion los s, under the IF at 200 MHz condition, was 12-14 dB at a LO power of 11 dBm. In addition, this mixer demonstrated an input IP3 of 18.9 dBm at 2.4 GHz. The simulated results, based on the large-signal models, pre sented a fair agreement with the measured results, which reveals the i mportance of device modeling. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
