High-yield synthesis of para-substituted pentacarbonyl(3-phenyl-2H-aza
phosphirene)tungsten complexes is reported, using a multi-step rearran
gement reaction. Spectroscopic and mass-spectrometric data of these he
terocyclic complexes are discussed; the P-31-NMR-chemical shifts clear
ly reflect the electronic influence of the para-phenyl substituents an
d the correlation with Hammett op-constants is almost linear.
