This report is divided into Four parts, each of them dealing with the
recent results obtained by our research group on the Allium chemistry.
We performed a chemical analysis by chromatographic and spectroscopic
methods of three Allium species widely distributed in the Mediterrane
an area, A. ursinum L., A. neapolitanum Cyr., and A. pomlin L. In the
first part, the structure and platelet antiaggregation activity of new
flavonol glycosides from A. ursinum L. are described. In the second p
art, the structures of new flavonol glycosides of A. neapolitanum Cyr.
are reported along with their platelet antiaggregation activity. The
third part describes the new sapogenins and saponins of A. porrum L.,
and their cytotoxic and antiproliferative activity. Finally, the last
part deals with the isolation of new antifungal dibenzofurans from A.
porrum L..
