Mg. Wolkenstein et al., VISUALIZATION OF N-DIMENSIONAL ANALYTICAL DATA ON PERSONAL COMPUTERS, TrAC. Trends in analytical chemistry, 17(3), 1998, pp. 120-128
Visualization is the task of creating images that allow important feat
ures in the data to be discerned much more readily than from the raw d
ata. In this article we describe our efforts towards using three-dimen
sional graphics for improved visualization caf different data from ana
lytical chemistry. Various available algorithms are used to analyze an
d visualize data features that are otherwise difficult to grasp, PB se
lection of case studies is presented to demonstrate the capabilities o
f data visualization. It is shown that, despite some limitations in co
mputing power, it is perfectly feasible to use standard personal compu
ters for advanced data visualization tasks. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science
