Abstract
Red Pt(bpm)Cl-2 . dmf forms a stacked structure which has Pt ... Pt se parations of 3.423(2) Angstrom and 3.447(2) Angstrom with Pt ... Pt .. . Pt angles of 155.39(3)degrees. The unit cell is P-1, with a = 6.712( 4) Angstrom, b = 10.0765(6) Angstrom, c = 11.551(3) Angstrom, alpha = 106.732(12)degrees, beta = 103.65(4)degrees, gamma = 90.46(3)degrees, and Z = 2. The structure refined to an R(F) of 0.046 using 181 paramet ers and 2165 reflections with I > 1 sigma(I). The yellow complex Pt(bp m)(dmso)(SO4). H2O does not stack in the solid state: the shortest Pt ... Pt separation is 4.638(2) Angstrom. The unit cell is also P-1, wit h a = 8.060(3) Angstrom, b = 9.560(3) Angstrom, c = 9.7534(18) Angstro m, alpha = 90.62(2)degrees, beta = 99.43(3)degrees, gamma = 90.66(3)de grees, and Z = 2. The structure refined to an R(F) of 0.039 using 208 parameters and 3689 reflections with I > 1 sigma(I).
