Abstract
The pinch magnitude in monolithic metal conductors and ferromagnetics was estimated in this paper, The conditions for the material were form ulated so that the pinch which occurs in it could reach the magnitude useful for applications. The way of production of a special composite with a laminar structure was described, The composite consists of shee ts of copper foil separating the layers of the elastic ferromagnet whi ch was made by the dispersion of hard magnetic particles in silicon. U sing a measuring system containing a Michelson interferometer, measure ments of changes were made in the thickness of the produced composite samples during the electric current flew. The obtained results were di scussed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
