The double-differential cross sections (DDX) of alpha-particle emissio
n from the reaction of 14.6 MeV neutrons with elemental nickel have be
en measured using a multitelescope system. The cross sections at sixte
en reaction angles from 25 degrees to 164.5 degrees have been obtained
. The angle-integrated spectrum and the angular distribution of alpha-
particle emission have been deduced from the DDX. The total alpha-part
icle emission cross section was 102 +/- 8 mb. The present result was c
ompared with the evaluation of ENDF/B-VI and other measurements.
