Abstract
Allyl dibromoacetate, allyl alpha-bromopropionate, and allyl phenylbro moacetate undergo cyclization in benzene in the presence of increased concentration of Fe(CO)(5)-DMF as the initiating system to give the co rresponding bromo-substituted butyrolactones.
