Selection indices (33) were constructed using different combinations o
f body weights (birth, 3, 6, 9, 12 months), greasy fleece weights (fir
st, second clip) and fleece quality traits (medullation percentage, fi
bre diameter). The index 1.007 W3 + (-0.925)W6 + 1.258W9 + 0.020W12 10.002GFW1 + 3.308 GFW2 was rated as most useful index for its high re
liability (rIH = 0.71) and expected aggregate genetic gain (Delta H =
5.51). The responses per generation in BW, W3, W6, W9, W12, GFW1, GFW2
, FD and Med.% were expected to be 0.038kg, 0.998kg, 0.975kg, 1.593kg,
1.469kg, 0.077kg, 0.040kg, 0.161u and -1.534% respectively.
