Abstract
To assess the agreement between experimental and calculated values of solar and thermal radiation reaching the earth's surface, their values for clear and cloudy skies were compared on the basis of the data obt ained from the 1992 and 1994 Zvenigorod experiments on radiation and c loudiness. Such a comparison serves as a check upon the reliability of a chosen calculation scheme and as an additional independent estimate of experimental errors.
