A new contribution to the correct diagnosis of Diphascon (D.) chilenen
se Plate, 1889, Diphascon (D.) alpinum Murray, 1906 and Diphascon (D.)
pingue Marcus, 1936 is provided. D. chilenense and D. pingue are rede
scribed, and the new species Diphascon pinguiforme is described. The l
atter differs from Diphascon pingue by having: clearly longer macropla
coids; the second macroplacoid as long as the first one (sometimes sli
ghtly shorter); the third macroplacoid clearly longer than the first t
wo; slightly longer claws.
