X. Pan et Ch. Hansen, ACTIVE VIBRATION CONTROL OF WAVES IN SIMPLE STRUCTURES WITH MULTIPLE ERROR SENSORS, The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 103(3), 1998, pp. 1673-1676
A numerical study is carried out to determine the improvement in vibra
tion control of simple structures gained by using two sets rather than
one set of error sensors. The structures considered are a beam, a pla
te, and a cylindrical shell. The control sources are driven to minimiz
e the sum of the mean squared flexural displacement signal from all se
nsors with the view to reducing downstream vibration transmission. Res
ults show that over a large frequency range there is an overall improv
ement in downstream attenuation resulting from the introduction of the
second set of error sensors for each simple structure. (C) 1998 Acous
