Abstract
We present two cases of Horner's syndrome occurring following uncompli cated internal jugular venous cannulation. An awareness of this potent ial complication will reduce confusion over the aetiology of anisocori a in critically ill patients. This consideration is important, since l esions in the central nervous system or carotid dissection following t rauma might otherwise be suspected.
