Bi. Petrov et al., USE OF THE AQUEOUS BIPHASIC DIANTIPYRYLMETHANE-2-NAPHTHALENESULFONIC ACID SYSTEM FOR THE EXTRACTION OF SOME METAL-IONS, Journal of analytical chemistry, 53(3), 1998, pp. 254-257
Phase equilibria in the water-diantipyrylmethane-2-naphthalenesulfonic
acid system were studied by physicochemical analysis. The region of a
two-phase liquid-liquid equilibrium was found in which phase separati
on is caused by protolytic interactions between components, The distri
bution of Sc, Fe(III), Hf, Zr, Bi, In, Mo(VI), U(VI), Th, and Ga betwe
en the phases was studied, Optimal conditions were found for their pre
concentration and extract-ion from solutions of different salt composi
tion. The composition of some extracted complexes was revealed and the
chemical mechanism of extraction is suggested. A procedure for the ex
traction-photometric determination of iron in alloys is proposed.
