The hyperfine structure of the triplet states of Li-7(2) has been stud
ied by continuous wave perturbation-facilitated optical-optical double
-resonance fluorescence excitation spectroscopy. The b(3) Pi(u) state
and the triplet Rydberg gerade states have resolvable hyperfine splitt
ing, and the hyperfine splitting is from the Fermi contact interaction
between the 2s sigma(g) valence electron and the nuclei. The doubly e
xcited 1(3) Sigma(g)(-) state does not have a 2s sigma(g) electron, an
d the hyperfine splitting is unresolvable within our resolution. In ad
dition, the Fermi contact constants of the b(3) Pi(u) and the triplet
Rydberg states have been obtained.
