Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to develop a vibronic theory for IR- UV SFG (sum-frequency-generation) spectra, which can be used to calcul ate the spectral intensity, the spectral band shape and the spectral b and shift as functions of temperature. As an application. we present t heoretical results for the effect of the temperature on IR and SFG spe ctra of C-H and C-D on diamond surfaces. The agreement between experim ent and theory is satisfactory.
